Pigment spots are places where your skin produces more melanin locally. They arise mainly from UV radiation (sun spots), ageing (age spots) or hormonal changes (melasma). They are usually harmless but can be cosmetically bothersome.

Yes. Hands, face and décolleté are the most common areas because they are most exposed to the sun. During the screening we decide per spot whether laser is the best approach.

Creams with vitamin C or niacinamide, for example, can fade light discolouration and are a good addition. For deeper or stubborn spots, a targeted laser treatment usually gives a faster and clearer result.

Sun protection is the most important thing: use SPF30–50 daily, even in winter. Avoid the strong midday sun and reapply when outdoors for long. That keeps your treatment result beautiful for a long time.
